The Quiz night was a great success with 56 members and friends taking part, raising £124.33 for Hayling Island Businessmen’s Club (www.hibc.org.uk).

There were tears, laughter and relationship break ups (Dave and Andy) along the way. Of the 9 teams entered Bits ‘n Bobs were a victorious 1st and won the £30 bar tab with 64.5 points, with the South Road Squat ….. sorry Swots …. coming 2nd with 62.5 points and in 3rd place – only half a point behind – Quiz Team Aguilera with 62 points. Walker’s Wonders put their poor performance down to illness which struck suddenly during the Music and Lyrics round. The Seacourt Bar Staff Team held their own and are to be congratulated on not finishing last (second to last!) despite an appalling score in the Pubs and Beer Round!
Andy Hickman won £25 in the Blackout with Preston North End.

Jean Ferris won £20 in the Rock’n’Roll bingo.

The transfer window is now open on team players and we understand that Dangerous Dave is being offered on a free transfer to any team who wants him next quiz night!

Thank you to everyone who took part and to those who helped collecting money, adding up the scores and clearing up etc – with special thanks to Mike Cole for his linguistic expertise!

Until next time ….. get swotting!
